Valentine 1 radar detector pricing question.?

Q) For some reason the Valentine one radar detector is $399 on the official website, and $499 everywhere else. Is there a newer version out that is $499? Why wouldn't this version be out on the website?

A) There is no newer version. Some resellers try to mark up the price and sell it for a profit. I had one of these for about a year and a half before my Camaro SS was broken into and it was stolen. I loved it. Only problem was that it goes off a LOT and is very sensitive. Best detector on the market, but it picks up all radar (even if its a false alarm) from a very long distance.

Valentine 1 radar detector worth the money?

Q) If I get a ticket using the Valentine1 radar detector will they pay for my ticket or is there a catch? If they do pay for it and I get a ticket what do I do?

A) They wont pay for ticket, sorry. Radar detectors are not fool proof. However Valentine One is the best on the market.

Best place to mount a Valentine 1 radar detector on a 99 Trans Am w/high RAM air hood?

Q) The bad thing about putting it under my rearview is the slant of my windshield...right underneth my rearview is the middle of my windshield...its sorta hard to explain the degree of slant my windshield has... looking for someone who has experienced this first hand.

A) There are also custom mounts available that can clip onto your mirror bracket as well. High is good.

A) Your not going to find a better detector than the Valentine 1. I have one and love. I never travel with out it. What I like about the V1 is you can upgrade the firmware which is needed for the newest technology available.

Which laser/radar detector is better?

Q) From what I've heard, the best detectors are the Bel Sti Driver and the Valentine 1. Right now I am trying to decide on which one to get. The Valentine 1 can detect radars from the back and has arrows that shows you where the signal's coming from, whereas the Bel Sti Driver is completely undetectable by radar detector detectors, however it does not detect signals from the back and cannot show you where the signals are coming from. Both detectors eliminate false alarms and claim to be the best there is. i live in florida where laser detectors are 100% legal, but i havent looked into if laser jammers are. there was also something else i was looking into that i have to get professionally installed called the beltronics rx 75 plus that blocks lasers, but at the same time im worried that it will not detect lasers and radars as well as the valentine 1 or the bel sti driver.

A) I cannot specifically recommend one BUT to be of any use, the laser detector side of things MUST be combined with a laser emitter to jam the unit - unlike a radar detector, all a laser detector does otherwise is goes "beep" to let you know there is a ticket in the post. Unlike radar, the only time you are going to detect it, is if the unit is already pointing specifically at you (rather than overspill in the case of radar). If you are not jamming the laser, then by the time you detect it, it is all too late. If BOTH of them offer active laser jamming then Go with which one seems to offer you the best features for the money. If still nothing in it, see which looks easiest to use or will fit best with the internal layout of your car. Just make sure you get ACTIVE laser unit. Mark

For the police radar detectors, has anyone heard anyone getting caught speeding when they have a Valentine 1?

A) Yes! Radar detectors dont make you immune to cops. I have a Passport X50 myself, so hear me out on this one. All it takes is instant on, or a shot of radar while the cops pulling up behind you. If you decide to get one, trust your eyes first, and listen to the radar when it goes off. Dont use the radar as a substitute for driving safely and watching out for cops.
