Questions and Answers

If I am self-employed can I get income protection if I fall ill?

Q) Any insurers you can recommend for self-employment income protection? And as it is self employed work...how do they work out what they will pay you back? If I am ill at present...I get zilch. I am prepared to pay a high premium. How many month sdo you need to pay into the scheme to get protected. Are there other protection policies to cover you not being able to find work?

A) no, u would have to get benifts from the state, then make sure that u have payment protection on any credit items such as credit cards

I live in Ireland and am looking to purchase income protection insurance.?

Q) I drive for a living and at this stage every insurance company has rejected me because I'm deemed a high risk. Does anyone have experience of this and which company do they recommend?

A) I'm assuming you are employed as a Diver (rather than self-employed ?). Norwich Union (and Lloyds Syndicates) will insure anything ..(for a price)... NB - FYI - there have been many cases where Insurance Companies are happy to take your premiums but when you come to claim, they find some obscure reason to wriggle out of paying up ... The 'catch all' for Income Protection is usually a clause that goes like "This Insurance is void if at the time of applying you had any reason to suspect you might loose your job" ... and I'm going to guess that ANYTHING in your medical history could be seen as a "reason to suspect" that you might have to stop Diving for a living ... You might be better off with Medical Insurance and Accident cover ?

I am searching protection of income insurance. Would like to get a quote for £22.000 /annum income.?

A) Such "Insurance" is usually not worth the paper it's written on. First they only cover Salaried Employees (but will take your premiums anyway), then they will only cover you if, when you started the policy you had "no reason to believe you MIGHT be made unemployed / redundant etc." Needless to say, as soon as you try to claim they will try to suggest that the only reason why you took out the policy was because you expected to be made redundant .... But what the heck, it's your money, do as you see fit :-) Try Norwich Union (they will insure anything, for a price)

If Americans are free, why does our government ask us for protection money (state & federal income taxes)?

Q) We all know if you don't pay state & federal income taxes, they can take away your freedom by putting you in prison for income tax evasion! You might say the taxes are for running our government. If they were to run our country the right way, they wouldn't need our money. If its for fighting wars, its wasted money, plus, the most powerful nation in the world doesn't need to fight overseas to prove a point. Other taxes are alright! The above is for a theisis I have to write! What's your valued opinion?

A) Well.... you dont have to pay INCOME taxes IRS Form 1040 violates the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) and is therefore a legally invalid form. Under the Public Protection clause of the PRA, no person can be penalized for failing to file a 1040 if the IRS fails to fully comply with the PRA. The IRS Individual Form 1040 has not and cannot comply with the requirements of the PRA because no existing statute authorizes the IRS to impose or collect the federal income tax from individuals. That lack of bona fide authority makes it impossible for IRS to avoid violating the PRA. IRS Form 1040 has not had a valid OMB(Office of Management and Budget) control number since 1982. Section 3512 of the PRA, titled “Public Protection” reads as follows: (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person shall be subject to any penalty for failing to comply with a collection of information that is subject to this subchapter [44 USCS § § 3501 et seq.] if-- (1) the collection of information does not display a valid control number assigned by the Director in accordance with this subchapter [44 USCS § § 3501 et seq.]; or (2) the agency fails to inform the person who is to respond to the collection of information that such person is not required to respond to the collection of information unless it displays a valid control number. (b) The protection provided by this section may be raised in the form of a complete defense, bar, or otherwise at any time during the agency administrative process or judicial action applicable thereto.

What are the benfits we recieve from the federal income tax besides military protection?

Q) What do we receive in social services, care and security that is not related to the military?

A) Well, after 9/11 I hope you don't underestimate the value of that protection, but, to name a few things: The interstate road system Trans-state law-enforcement The national park system TONS of very useful pork barrell legislation such as the TVA and the electrification of various remotely rural places The Coast Guard (technically an arm of the military, but their purpose is different) Environmental protection The ability to challenge state laws contrary to the Bill of Rights Disaster relief Assorted projects by The Army Corp. of Engineers Enforcement of American law beyond american borders, such as DEA efforts in SE Asia and South America. Various educational programs and scholarships.

for lifetime protection which insurance plan is best - whole life, universal life or variable life?

Q) i want a lifetime coverage for income continuation, & asset protection. which do you think is the best taking everything into consideration?

A) From those three choices, I would pick whole life. It provides permanent protection and the premiums remain level to age 100. If you pick universal life, your policy will eventually self-destruct. In universal life, the protection element is always annual renewable term insurance. In the beginning, majority of your premiums goes toward cash value. As times goes on, the cost of the insurance element goes up. So less and less of the premiums goes toward cash value, and more toward the insurance. Eventually, all your premiums is going toward insurance and your cash value may begin to decrease. If you pick variable life, a portion of your premiums is invested in the stock market. If there is growth in the cash value, the death benefit grows too. If the cash value does poorly, you are guaranteed a minimum death benefit of whatever coverage you bought. This is the worst way to invest your money since life insurance policies have high expense ratios of 2-4% and possibly more. If mutual funds have an expense ratio of 1% and then you add life insurance expense ratio, you will be paying 3-5%. Lets say a mutual fund does an average rate of return of 10%. Deduct all these expenses, you are getting 5-7% on your savings. But you seem to buying life insurance for the wrong reasons. Life insurance's only purpose is to protect your income. In the event of your death, life insurance will provide income to your family. If you are like many others who may have a mortgage to pay, have lots of debt, and have kids, then you should consider getting a 20-35 year term insurance. You should be able to afford the amount of coverage you need since premiums are very low compared to whole life, universal life and variable life. At the same time, you should be investing for the future. I would open an IRA account (try to get a Roth IRA) and invest on a monthly basis. If you invest $200/month and you get a 10% rate of return, in 20 years you can possibly have $153k. In 30 years, $456k. In 35 years, $765k. Keeping savings and life insurance separate is the best plan and only term insurance contains no savings in it.

can you make good money selling mortgage protection term life products?

Q) i have been in the senior market for 4 yrs now selling medigap and annuities and rarely final expense plans. i am looking to supplement my income. how easy is it to make 50 k a year with mortgage protection and i am up for suggestions on where to get contracts also and what to look for.

Illegal Income Tax?

Q) Although many people say income tax is illegal "i am one of them because there is no law" you have to realize that, that money goes toward government jobs, like teachers and the army and all government jobs, and most importantly schools. If we didnt have an Income tax then they just charge us even more for their services, we will be required to pay for 12 years of schooling, pay for the protection of our military and police. What are you guys thoughts on this? Just realized that sate tax covers all that, and most of income tax goes to foreign debts which is bad. So once again income tax is still illegal and very wrong

i bought a car and the auto company changed my gross income listed to a much higher amount after i had signed?

Q) i found this out when the loan company called to verify the amount and my work history. both the amount of GI and work history were altered. my belief is that i would never have been approved for a car which i cannot afford given the correct income as written. i have called the DA, the local TV station consumer protection show, the Consumer Protection Agency, Small Claims court, and even submitted to the DMV investigations Dept. NONE of these agencies say that they can or will help me to fight the auto company. does anyone out there know of an agency or company which investigates auto loan contract fraud? help!!

A) you bought the car! if they padded your income they were helping you to qualify and if you are now turning on them because you changed your mind then you won't find much help here in the good old usa because we all seek deals like that on all levels.

(b) The protection provided by this section may be raised in the form of a complete defense, bar, or otherwise at any time during the agency administrative process or judicial action applicable thereto. None of you could prove me wrong. PLEASE READ SECTION (B). On May 12, 2006 in Peoria, Illinois, the attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) begged the court to dismiss all charges against IRS victim Robert Lawrence in federal District Court. The motion for dismissal came on the heels of a surprise tactic by Lawrence ’s defense attorney Oscar Stilley. The tactic threatened exposure of IRS’s on-going efforts to defraud the public. The move put DOJ attorneys in a state of panic that left them with only one alternative: beg for dismissal, with prejudice. Stilley’s tactic paid off. Sixty days earlier, the DOJ had indicted Lawrence on three counts of willful failure to file a 1040 form, and three felony counts of income tax evasion. The federal Judge dismissed all charges with prejudice, meaning the DOJ cannot charge Lawrence with those crimes again. The DOJ knew that it stood a significant chance of losing the case, and if that happened, the press and others would quickly spread the word, and leave only fools to ever file a 1040 again. Oscar Stilley’s pleadings and documents made these points quite clear: IRS Form 1040 violates the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) and is therefore a legally invalid form. Under the Public Protection clause of the PRA, no person can be penalized for failing to file a 1040 if the IRS fails to fully comply with the PRA. The PRA statutes explicitly provide that a PRA challenge is a complete defense and can be raised in any administrative or judicial proceeding. The IRS Individual Form 1040 has not and cannot comply with the requirements of the PRA because no existing statute authorizes the IRS to impose or collect the federal income tax from individuals. That lack of bona fide authority makes it impossible for IRS to avoid violating the PRA. THIS IS REAL THIS IS TRUTH

A) Sure. Start with Title 26 of the US Code. Passed by Congress over the past 90 years. Under authority of the 16th Amendment, ratified in 1913, and confirmed by the US Supreme Court as being ratified in 1916. See the dozen other posts on that subject for details. US Code Title 26 authorizes the Department of the Treasury to collect personal income taxes. The IRS is their enforcement arm. Next, violation of the PRA does not alleviate tax liability. Read 44 USC 3501 and 44 USC 3518. Nothing in the PRA reduces the authority of any govt agency to carry out their functions or impedes their ability to assess civil or criminal liability. Read 44 USC 3506-08 Nothing the PRA limits an agency's authority to collect information necessary for those functions. Third, the Public Protection clause (44 USC 3512) states in relevant part that a person cannot be penalized for refusing to fill out forms that do not include a proper control number. However, even if the form does not include such a control number (I haven't checked) no penalty is being imposed under the PRA and no penalty is being imposed for refusing to provide the information discussed in the PRA. So section 3512 doesn't apply. Not to mention that filling out form 1040 by itself is a voluntary process, and thus not subject to the PRA. Title 26 Section 1 imposes tax liability. Title 26 Section 601 et seq sets forth reporting requirements. If a person does not voluntarily assess their own tax, the govt will perform the tax assessment. This is independent of what forms are used. So, regardless of your arguments about the PRA, that doesn't affect a person's tax liability. See the IRS website and dozens of federal tax evasion cases for further details.

"Sway 26" If you read the supreme court decision on the 16th you will find that it enumerates no new rights to taxation. "crissymm5" we actually see no benefits from the income tax. 100% of it goes to pay down the debt. A) Income taxes are unconstitutional. The 16th amendment is unconstitutional the whole damn deal of the federal reserve is unconstitutional. The graveyard congress votes of 1913 should be unconstitutional. We'd rather quarrel about the right to kill babies or the right of the President to protect us from islamic extremists though instead of the real attacks against the Constitution. Iwrin Schiff doesn't pay income taxes and he fought with the federal government in court and won... Trouble is do you have the resources to fight the feds? I don't..... I also hold a CDL license which is a privilege of a tax paying citizen.

Patrick Buchanan and protection?

Q) During the 1996 US presidential election, candidate Patrick Buchanan wrote in the Wall Street Journal (September 5, 1995) that, “With tariffs we can shift the burden of taxes off the incomes of US workers and small businesses, onto consumers of foreign goods. ‘By the tariff system,’ said [Abraham] Lincoln, ‘the whole revenue is paid by the consumer of foreign good…. The man who contents himself to live upon the products of his own country pays nothing at all.’” Analyze this argument for protection.

A) When other countries raise their tariffs as well, it will cost Americans more money to buy simple products. This means that Americans will have less disposable income, and therefore less demand. Less demand means fewer jobs in the long run. It's not economically efficient to raise tariffs.
