Cottage in wales

Questions and Answers

does anyone want to buy a beautiful old cottage in wales...??

Q) i have to downgrade to a caravan / tent / bender / cardboard box......i'll do you a good deal........

A) Does it have a big garden? Is it way off the beaten track? Do you like cats? Do you have a car and a valid drivers license? If so, I'll buy it a reasonable price, let you pitch your tent at the back of the garden, or better yet, build you a snug little tree house. I'll cook for you, and give you access to bathroom and loo. In return, I'd like you to drive me places sometimes, as I can't drive. And help out in the garden, now and then. And be really good to my cats! How does that sound? If you don't get any better offers, why not rent it out? Whatever you do, don't live in a cardboard box! That is too inhumane! People rescue abandoned animals left in cardboard boxes, but don't seem to feel the same way about humans! A tent is good; I lived in one for 3 months (yes, with the cats) and I was very happy there. A caravan .... hmm. Has its advantages, but a think a tree house would be lovely for you. We could even connect an electricity line to it from the cottage .... What do you think?

Land access rights wales, self build planned.?

Q) I currently live in an end terrace cottage, which has an access road of unknown ownership between the council owned road and my drive (i am currently trying to find out who does own this). My garden is large enough to build a new house and still retain enough land for the cottages garden. My question is, if i build a new house will i have access rights to the new property up this lane? My cottage is the first one in the terrace and my drive, which i would keep ownership of as part of the new property joins directly with this land. I have lived in my current home for about seven years and have played my role in the maintenance of this lane, i have never met an owner and have certainly never seen anyone maintain it. My neighbour has freely accessed this lane (and his friends) for over twenty years. The cottages have been built for over 100 years and clearly access has been maintained during this time without any known dispute. Any suggestion?

A) It all depends on whether the land you are talking about is private land, public land, military, church land, farm land, national park land, or sacred land. Your rights are effected in different ways, it just depends who owns it.

Where in England or Wales or Scotland is there inexpensive housing to let (rent)?

Q) I want to let a 1-bedroom flat or a very small house/cottage or a room with a private bath/toilet. Furnished or not furnished. My limit is 800 pounds per month for rent. Many places I've looked at online begin at over 1,000 pounds per month. There must be less expensive (clean and safe) housing for less -- but where?? I'm a citizen returning to live in December. I've been abroad for many years and have no family or friends to stay with when I arrive in December, so even a transitional furnished room with bath would be good until I can look for a flat or cottage in person. I'm over 25, and under 50 years of age.

A) Try the web site for "Doolittle & Dalley" Properties much cheaper than £800 pcm www.doolittle-dalley.co.uk Just to see what is available in quite a reasonably good area of the UK. By good, I mean easy access to lovely Countryside, to motorways & train services, decent shopping, etc. If you end up in my area - I'll look out for you!
